This spalted beech coffee table features striking black line patterns naturally formed by fungal growth in the wood which occurred, more by accident than design, when the trunk lay in a field at West Kyloe for two years following Storm Desmond. The organic, marble-like veining contrasts dramatically with the warm honey tones of beech, creating a unique statement piece. This table displays an unrepeatable pattern, showcasing nature's artistry within a functional, elegant design.

Something a little bit different. A heavily figured, book-matched, spalted beech coffee table with beech edge bindings on hand turned spalted beech legs. Two large knots have been highlighted and along with the figuring in the spalting, this gives us the Owl’s face. Well, we think it does. The table has been sealed and finished with beeswax from local bees (courtesy of Phil G.)

Found sad and down at heel in the local charity shop. Once the pride of place in a Georgian parlour this table had seen better days. Made from quarter sawn oak, giving it distinctive figuring the table is a versatile and functional item, whilst still being an interesting talking point.
